Easter at Poppyland

Spring has officially arrived, and with Easter just around the corner, there’s no better time to get out and explore everything Norfolk has to offer. From family friendly days out to peaceful nature experiences, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this season.
Known for its beautiful landscapes and rich wildlife, Norfolk is the perfect place to embrace the outdoors. For a fun Easter adventure, head to Pensthorpe, where you can wander through stunning gardens, follow sensory trails, and discover an array of fascinating birdlife. Their Easter celebrations also include a lively egg hunt and a specially themed garden experience, making it an ideal day out for families.
If you’re looking for something a little more tranquil, check out the dawn and dusk chorus events. This offers a unique chance to experience nature at its most magical.
For a touch of heritage, North Norfolk has plenty to offer. The Easter Eggspress, hosted by the North Norfolk Railway, is a must do combining a scenic train journey through the countryside with a few chocolatey treats along the way.
There are plenty more Easter egg hunts to discover too, with the National Trust hosting activities across many of its sites. If you’re planning a trip into the city, Chantry Place is also offering a free, interactive Easter event.
Beyond Easter themed activities, spring in Norfolk brings a wonderful selection of markets and seasonal events. Holkham’s spring markets are a fantastic opportunity to explore the estate’s historic grounds while browsing and sampling local produce.
One event not to miss is the annual Sheringham Viking Festival, taking place on 11th April. Expect a full day of excitement, from dramatic boat burnings and reenactments to the chance to soak up the seaside town of Sheringham.
Of course, sometimes the simplest plans are the best. Norfolk truly comes into its own in spring, with carpets of bluebells in woodland areas, the return of migratory birds, and endless countryside to explore. Whether you’re attending an event or simply enjoying the fresh air, it’s the perfect season to experience everything this beautiful region has to offer.
