Locals and visitors alike flocked to Cromer to watch the 2012 new year’s day firework display on Cromer pier.  The evening was warm and the tide was out, children were playing on the beach in the dark, people sat at candle lit tables outside their beach huts. Since the first fireworks display on new year’s day 2000 it has  become a hugely successful annual event .  The north Norfolk beach runners organized a run along the promenade for all ages, fancy dress optional.  A  torch lit procession left Cromer church at 4.30 to arrive at the pier for the  count down at 5 pm for the fireworks to start.
