Boxing day dip
Posted December 27th, 2011A large gathering watched the boxing day swim at Overstrand, this year being an exceptionally warm day. About thirty people braved the water and money raised from the event was donated to the millenium group for the play ground.

While enjoying a walk from Overstrand to Cromer we came across a very inquisitive seal. Watching him for about twenty minutes coming back and forth to the shore line, and disappearing just after we left. Seals are often spotted along the north Norfolk coast, you can take a boat trip to Blakeney Point between April and October, to visit them in their natural environment. Grey & common seals can be seen basking on the sandbanks. Beans boats will take you from Morston or Blakeney Quay. Blakeney point is also famous for its bird life, a variety of terns can be seen in the summer months & during the winter large numbers of geese, ducks and teal. The National Trust took over the point and it is now an international breeding ground.
